Joining AlphaGeo Global was like a dream come true. I aimed to set myself on a trajectory that would enable me to both utilize and develop my data skills. AlphaGeo Global provided me the opportunity to do both. The organization has proven to be the ideal platform for me to translate my aspirations into reality, offering an environment where my data-oriented ambitions could truly flourish.
At AlphaGeo Global, I am assisting a team of researchers and data scientists in identifying and analyzing datasets and features to drive future-proof real estate strategies under multiple climate scenarios. In the course of a relatively brief duration, I've undergone an incredible learning curve, acquiring an extensive array of new skills, particularly through my involvement with physical climate risk data.
Right after graduating from Boston University, I landed a job at Karandaaz Pakistan. Over the course of two and a half years, I assisted the team in implementing some of the key projects aimed at improving financial inclusion in Pakistan. My main role was to monitor the implementation of BMGF’s Financial Services for the Poor (FSP) program by ensuring the delivery of program’s strategic objectives and outcome indicators.
At Karandaaz Pakistan, I got to play a key role in advancing the agenda of financial inclusion. However, I was wriggling for a research and data analytics role.
I studied global policy at Boston University as a Fulbright Scholar. The Masters program at BU provided me with numerous opportunities to expand my knowledge and challenge my worldview. I had the opportunity to learn from distinguished scholars, including Adil Najam, whose teachings sparked within me a profound curiosity about climate-related policies. This is also where I first practically encountered the world of data science.
I joined Aman Foundation as part of the first cohort of Management Trainees called the Aman Leaders. I worked with multiple departments on a rotational basis and helped design, implement, monitor, and evaluate various donor sponsored projects.
IBA presented unprecedented scale and diversity of opportunity. My four years of phenomenal professors across the disciplines pushed me to expand, challenge, and adjust my worldview.
My experience living and studying with exceptional students from across Pakistan showed me the power of empathetic leadership and expanded my comfort zone. My tenure throwing major, campus-wide events validated that quality stems from attention to detail. My junior fall semester abroad at Delta State University humbled me to explore my place in the world. My engagement in IBA's music and arts initiatives exercised my creative muscle, sparked my obsession with music, and strengthened my tolerance to adversity. My internships at HBL and SOS Children's Villages helped me discover my love for working on initiatives that make people's lives better.
IBA showed me what I love to do, gifted me with a love for learning, and surrounded me with a wealth of inspiring peers.
AKHSS was the true begining of my educational journey. It was during my time at AKHSS that I first began to grasp the immense value of education and its potential to shape a person's life. The foundation laid at AKHSS set the tone for my pursuit of knowledge, leading me to the realization, later at IBA and then BU, that one's thirst for learning can never truly be quenched.
AKHSS stood not only as an educational institution that propelled me towards academic excellence, but also as a place where I forged lifelong friendships. It's to this remarkable institution that I attribute all of my accomplishments and successes.
